Kings Should Look at a Dubois Trade this Offseason
What are the Los Angeles Kings going to do about Pierre-Luc Dubois?
He was awful in the first-round series against the Edmonton Oilers, almost non-existent.
He was also not good this past season, with only 16 goals and 24 assists for 40 points in 82 games.
Keep in mind that this is the same player who signed an eight-year, $68 million deal just last summer when he was traded to the Kings.
He has been a player who has taken a ton of scrutiny because of his play in the regular season and playoffs.
The Hockey News’ own Ken Campbell’s latest piece suggests that he may be among the worst contracts in the NHL today.
Dubois is hands down one of the worst deals in the NHL today, which is why the Kings should look at a potential trade this offseason.
Unfortunately for the Kings, they will probably need to sell him off for less than his contractual value. Any team looking to acquire Dubois will likely offer less than what the Kings offered the Winnipeg Jets last season.

The Kings will need to prioritize what is important internally. Is clearing his cap off the books and allocating it elsewhere more important, or is it getting back as close to the return that was given up last season?
If the Kings want to address other areas this offseason, such as goaltending, clearing Dubois off the books would be ideal.
