Since everyone has their own thoughts, Sheezan Khan, who plays Alibaba in Daastan-e-Kabul, expressed his disappointment with the film on social media, saying that he felt most of the actors were unable to speak Urdu correctly.

Sheezan Khan expressed his opinions about the project on Instagram, noting that Farida Jalal was the only performer that pronounced Urdu correctly while the other actors did not.

In the post, Sheezan wrote, “Apart from Farida Jalal ji! Nobody could speak “urdu” in SLB’s Heeramandi! Kisi Ka Nuqta, kha, qaf apni jagah pe nahi hai!! Kyu bhai kyu?? Urdu ke saath itni naainsaafi. Disappointed.” (None of the actors pronounced the words properly apart from Farida Jalal Ji. Why bro? Why such injustice with the Urdu language.)

Earlier, Sheezan opened up about how being a public figure affects mental health, he shared, “The constant scrutiny and pressure that comes with the territory. The expectation to always be perfect and the subject of relentless judgment can take a toll on mental health. I wish for a more compassionate and understanding culture where public figures are allowed to be human, with flaws and vulnerabilities, without fear of excessive criticism.”

Following the enormous success of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai, the renowned producer and director made a comeback with the much-discussed Heeramandi project for Netflix. Renowned performers Farida Jalal, Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Shekhar Suman are among those involved in the project.

The project’s narrative centres on courtesans’ lives before independence. It also emphasizes their role in bringing about India’s independence. Fans have been dropping mixed reactions for the series.
