Kerajaan perlu semak semula syarat ketat MM2H: Sultan Johor

JOHOR BAHRU – Kerajaan Persekutuan diminta untuk segera menyemak semula syarat ketat bagi Program Malaysia Rumah Keduaku (MM2H).

Perkara itu ditegaskan Sultan Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar yang mahu segala perkara dipertimbangkan dengan sebaiknya selain impak yang bakal dialami khususnya bagi negeri ini sendiri.

Baginda bertitah, perkara ini adalah melihat kepada faktor Johor yang merupakan antara destinasi utama pelaburan asing selain antara penyumbang utama kepada pertumbuhan ekonomi Malaysia.

“Johor bukan sahaja berjiran dengan Singapura, malah Program MM2H adalah antara penyumbang kepada kekuatan ekonomi negeri.

“Kaji semula syarat ketat yang ditetapkan sebelum ini dan kekalkan juga syarat lama dengan membuat berapa penambahbaikan supaya ia dapat memberikan imbangan positif khususnya pertumbuhan ekonomi,” titah Sultan Ibrahim menerusi laman Facebook Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar di sini pada Sabtu.

Menerusi kenyataan sama, perbincangan mengenai perkara itu turut diajukan kepada Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob menerusi kunjungannya di Istana Pasir Pelangi di sini pada pagi Sabtu.

Dalam pertemuan sama, Sultan Ibrahim turut membincangkan pelbagai perkara lain berkaitan kemajuan Johor.

Sebelum ini, Menteri Dalam Negeri, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin memaklumkan kerajaan akan menambah baik syarat penyertaan bagi Program MM2H bagi memastikan peserta hanya terdiri daripada mereka yang berkualiti dan dapat menyumbang dalam menjana ekonomi negara.

Katanya, syarat itu juga adalah termasuk keperluan pemilikan akaun simpanan tetap sekurang-kurangnya RM1 juta.
