Kementerian akan mengambil tindakan tegas terhadap pihak yang menaikkan harga ayam sewenang-wenangnya sehingga membebankan pengguna.

Kementerian Pertanian dan Industri Makanan (Mafi) akan memantau pengeluaran ayam di peringkat ladang bagi memastikan tidak berlaku gangguan bekalan ternakan itu sehingga boleh menyebabkan peningkatan harga yang mendadak.

Timbalan Menteri Pertanian dan Industri Makanan 1 Ahmad Hamzah berkata Mafi juga akan mengambil tindakan tegas terhadap pihak yang menaikkan harga ayam sewenang-wenangnya sehingga membebankan pengguna.

“Kerajaan buat keputusan tidak boleh sentiasa menanggung subsidi (untuk penternak ayam) sebab itu daripada bagi subsidi kepada penternak, kita bagi bantuan terus kepada pengguna…harga ayam akan diapung oleh penternak dan peniaga bermula 1 Julai ini selepas subsidi tidak diberikan kepada mereka.

“Namun di peringkat Mafi, kami akan pantau perkara itu termasuk di ladang dan akan mengambil tindakan jika harga jualan ayam (dinaikkan) sewenang-wenangnya…kami juga telah mengambil langkah bersiap sedia untuk membawa masuk 200 kontena ayam bulat bagi menampung bekalan dan memastikan harga tidak dinaikkan,” katanya kepada pemberita di Bukit Mertajam, Pulau Pinang hari ini.

Beliau ditemui selepas merasmikan Penang Fama Fest 2022 yang bermula semalam hingga 26 Jun. Turut hadir pada majlis itu ialah Ketua Pengarah Lembaga Pemasaran Pertanian Persekutuan (Fama) Zainal Abidin Yang Razali.

Ahmad berkata selain itu, Mafi telah beberapa kali menjalankan pertemuan dan perbincangan dengan pihak penternak untuk mencari jalan terbaik serta situasi menang-menang dalam isu harga ayam dan ia akan diteruskan dari semasa ke semasa.

Beliau berkata berdasarkan pemeriksaan dan pemantauan, pihaknya mendapati sejak minggu kedua Jun lepas bekalan ayam stabil dan ia dijangka terus kekal begitu berikutan jumlah pengeluaran ayam yang semakin meningkat ketika ini.

Katanya, berdasarkan tahap sara diri (SSL) untuk ayam ketika ini bekalan ayam melepasi permintaan antara 104 hingga 105 peratus dan ketika ini bekalan ayam yang telah dikeluarkan ialah 60 juta tan ayam sedangkan permintaan hanya 54 juta tan.

“Sebenarnya kita sepatutnya mempunyai lebihan bekalan ayam, bagaimanapun disebabkan beberapa keadaan yang tidak dijangka mengalami kekurangan sebelum ini. Banyak langkah juga telah diambil oleh kerajaan termasuk memastikan stok ternakan ayam mencukupi. Dengan semua langkah ini dilaksanakan, keadaan kembali normal dan kami tidak menjangkakan kenaikan harga yang mendadak walaupun subsidi dihapuskan mulai bulan depan,” katanya.

Mengulas lanjut, beliau berkata bagi memastikan bekalan ayam mencukupi dalam apa jua keadaan, Perdana Menteri Ismail Sabri Yaakob telah mengarahkan Mafi, melalui Lembaga Pertubuhan Peladang (LPP) untuk melaksanakan beberapa inisiatif.

“Kami juga memperuntukkan sejumlah RM62.5 juta kepada Pertubuhan Peladang Kebangsaan (Nafas) untuk menyimpan stok ayam dan ini telah bermula,” katanya.
