DUSHANBE, September 17. /TASS/. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member-states should revise the state of trade and economic cooperation within the framework of the integration and take necessary decisions on the basis of revealed risks, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the meeting of the Council of heads of SCO members on Friday.
“The processes of post-COVID recovery provide us with a unique opportunity to reconsider the state of affairs in the field of trade and economic cooperation on the SCO space. The question is wider than simply a recovery of particular indicators of trans-regional cooperation. It is necessary to analyze macrotrends, estimate the risks and on this basis take systemic decisions,” he said.
In this respect the president suggested that the secretariat of the organization together with a consortium of SCO economic, analytical centers be tasked with taking respective actions and providing their ideas for the next summit of the integration.
