Chris Young is CLEARED of all charges following his arrest at a Nashville bar... after security footage showed singer being shoved by an officer

Chris Young has been cleared of all charges following his arrest at a Nashville bar on Monday after being booked for allegedly confronting alcohol enforcement.

The country star, 38, had been taken into custody and charged for disorderly conduct, assaulting an officer and resisting arrest after allegedly ‘striking’ an officer.

However, a statement was released by Nashville District Attorney Glenn Funk on Friday – just one day after security footage showed Young being shoved by a cop before the arrest, contradicting the officer’s version of events.

Funk stated, per People, ‘Regarding the Chris Young incident – After a review of all the evidence in this case, the Office of the District Attorney has determined that these charges will be dismissed.’

The singer’s attorney, Bill Ramsey, also released a statement, expressing, ‘Mr. Young and I are gratified with the DA’s decision clearing him of the charges and any wrong-doing.’

Chris being cleared of all charges comes shortly after security footage showed he has been aggressively shoved by an officer in the Nashville bar altercation which saw him get arrested – apparently contradicting the cop’s version of events.

The country star is jabbed so violently by the special agent that he tumbles backwards over a bar stool at the DawgHouse Saloon in the video, which is shown from three angles.

Law enforcement said four agents from the Alcoholic Beverage Commission were checking another bar, Tin Roof, when they first encountered the singer, who then followed them to DawgHouse before assaulting one of them.

But the surveillance video appears to tell a different story, prompting Young’s lawyer Bill Ramsey to demand an apology and that the charges be dropped.

The first clip in the footage shows Young wearing a black leather jacket, jeans and a cap while standing close to the bar as the four agents marched past him towards the exit.

The Nashville Star 2006 winner then extended his arm, appearing to bar the path of the first agent, but doesn’t touch him, and the agent responded by shoving him so hard he tumbled backwards.

The fall is so dramatic that several people who were also at the bar leapt up from their seats and approached the Gettin’ You Home singer to check on him.

Another camera angle, taken from behind Young, showed him land on his back on the edge of the bar before falling to the ground. A bar stool crashed down with him.

Young quickly stood and backed away from the agents with his hands raised in a surrendering gesture. One officer inserted himself between Young and the other agents in an apparent peacekeeping gesture.

The Famous Friends singer was arrested shortly afterwards – something his attorney said should never have happened.

‘What happened to my client Chris Young at a bar in Nashville on Monday night was wrong and he never should have been arrested and charged in the first place,’ Ramsey told DailyMail.com.

‘In light of the video evidence, Tennessee ABC needs to drop the charges and apologize for the physical, emotional and professional harm done towards my client.’

The events leading up to the arrest started at around 8:30 pm, when agents from the Alcoholic Beverage Commission were completing a compliance check at Tin Roof – a bar on Demonbreun Street in Midtown Nashville – and encountered the singer.

After checking his identification, Young – who is known for a series of No. 1 hits and winning the reality show Nashville Star – allegedly followed the agents and asked them questions before recording them with his camera.

When the officers went to the next bar, DawgHouse, to continue their identification checks – Young followed them with his group of people when the confrontation unfolded.

The star then attempted to prevent the agents from leaving by sticking out his hand and allegedly ‘striking’ one of the officers, according to the affidavit.

The singer's attorney, Bill Ramsey, also released a statement, expressing, 'Mr. Young and I are gratified with the DA's decision clearing him of the charges and any wrong-doing'; seen in November 2023 in Nashville

‘While walking out the door Mr. Young put his hands out to stop me from leaving the bar and struck me on the shoulder,’ the affidavit said.

‘I then pushed Mr. Young to create distance since I had no idea of who Mr. Young was or what he had.’

Young reportedly began walking backward and refusing to comply with the officers – which resulted in him being handcuffed.

The affidavit claims the country singer was slurring his words while his eyes were bloodshot and watery.

After Young’s disorderly behavior at the bar the atmosphere turned ‘hostile,’ the report said.

The country star had performed at another bar in Nashville – the Bootleggers Inn – on Friday, January 19.

He later uploaded a video to TikTok of his performance at the nightlife establishment.

Young was the Season Four winner of the television program Nashville Star in 2006. He since rose to fame with hit songs, including Drinkin’ Me Lonely and You’re Gonna Love Me.
