Filming for Masters Of The Air started in 2021 in England, but was delayed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The series also will feature Ncuti Gatwa, David Shields, Ben Radcliffe, Elliot Warren, Nate Mann, Edward Ashley, Rafferty Law, Darragh Cowley and German actor Louis Hofmann.

Masters Of The Air will have a two-episode premiere on January 26 on the Apple TV+ service.

According to the official synopsis, Masters of Air ‘follows the men of the 100th Bomb Group (the ‘Bloody Hundredth’) as they conduct perilous bombing raids over Nazi Germany and grapple with the frigid conditions, lack of oxygen and sheer terror of combat conducted at 25,000 feet in the air.

‘Portraying the psychological and emotional price paid by these young men as they helped destroy the horror of Hitler’s Third Reich is at the heart of Masters of Air.

‘Some were shot down and captured; some were wounded or killed. And some were lucky enough to make it home. Regardless of individual fate, a toll was exacted on them all.’

It comes after Rafferty spoke about feeling ‘defined’ by his A-list parents Jude and Sadie during a new interview – and how he was determined to break away.

The actor explained to Hunger Magazine that why his famous mother and father are his ‘main role models’ he was keen to carve his own path.

Rafferty explained how the pandemic made him take stock of his career choices, after previously starring in Oliver Twist reboot, Twist.

He said: ‘Lockdown made me realise how grateful I am for the opportunities I’ve had, but also how driven I am, to show people what I’m capable of and share my opinions.

‘I’ve got a lot to say. In the past I felt like I was slightly defined by my family. And now I want to break away from that and focus on myself.’

Crediting his parents for some of their attributes, he went to say he appreciates the way his mother ‘treats people’ and how ‘patient’ she is whereas his dad is ‘like a best friend’ due to them spending so much time together.

He explained: ‘My mum has always been a huge role model to me in how she treats people and her outlook on life… She’s very patient. My dad’s always been a huge role model, too.

‘He’s like a best friend. We spent a lot of time just me and him when I was growing up – we’d go on all sorts of adventures.

‘I think he really instilled imagination in me, which then made me want to tell stories and be able to create that human connection.’

Jude was previously married to actress and designer Sadie Frost, but the pair divorced in 2003. They have three children – Rafferty, 24, Iris and Rudy, 18.

He also has daughter, Sophia, 11, with model Samantha Burke, and another daughter called Ada, five, with singer-songwriter Catherine Harding.

Jude and his now wife Phillipa Coan, 36, welcomed a baby in 2020, and were spotted together at the Hay literary festival in 2015, and married at Old Marylebone Town Hall in 2019 before partying in Mayfair – three months after he announced their engagement.
