Kanser ragut penglihatan Afifah

Alor Setar: Afifah Mohamad Fazil, 6, dilahirkan normal namun dia disahkan menghidap kanser “bilteral optic glioma” sejak Mac 2017 menyebabkan penglihatannya kabur kronik.

Keadaan itu menggusarkan hati ibu bapanya, Ratnasari Diwi Hamid, 41, dan Mohamad Fazil Md Dzahid, 46, kerana anak bongsu mereka kini tidak dapat melihat seperti dulu.

Menurut ibunya, ketika usia Afifah dua tahun, dia pernah terjatuh menyebabkan bola mata anaknya itu terjejas selain mempunyai ketumbuhan di belakang saraf mata.

Katanya, keadaan itu bertambah buruk ketika anaknya memasuki tadika awal tahun ini apabila guru kelasnya memberitahu Afifah tidak dapat membaca disebabkan pandangannya semakin kabur.

“Cikgu beritahu yang Afifah cepat letih dan kerap tidur dalam kelas selain tidak dapat membaca dengan jelas.

“Kami membawanya menjalani rawatan di Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim (HSAH) di Sungai Petani dan doktor meminta kami merujuk kes itu ke Hospital Pulau Pinang (HPP),” katanya.

Menurut Ratnasari, anaknya kemudian dibawa menjalani rawatan pengimejan resonans magnetic (MRI) di HPP selepas disahkan menghidap kanser.

Katanya, sejak itu Afifah juga perlu dibawa menjalani rawatan kimoterapi setiap sekali minggu selain rawatan susulan di HPP.

“Saya tidak bekerja manakala suami pula hanya bekerja mengambil upah membuat batu cincin dengan pendapatan yang tidak menentu.

“Akibat Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) sejak tahun lalu, pendapatan suami terjejas kerana sukar mendapat tempahan menyebabkan kami menggunakan wang yang ada semata-mata untuk membawa anak menjalani rawatan,” katanya.

Menurutnya lagi, mereka mempunyai seorang lagi anak, Nurul Awatif Mohamad Fazil, 11, dan menerima bantuan bulanan dari Lembaga Zakat Negeri Kedah (LZNK) sebanyak RM200.

Katanya, mereka kini buntu untuk mendapatkan wang kerana perlu membayar rumah sewa setiap bulan sebanyak RM150 di Kampung Pulau Chengai, Gurun selain menyara kehidupan Harian.

“Setiap minggu kami perlu ke Pulau Pinang dan perlukan wang sekurang-kurangnya RM300 untuk ulang alik perjalanan selain susu formula khas untuk Afifah,” katanya.

Sehubungan itu, mereka yang hendak membantu keluarga ini boleh menyalurkan sumbangan melalui akaun Agrobank 2005111000125880 (Mohamad Fazil).

Sementara itu, keluarga ini bersyukur apabila mendapat bantuan dari Pengarah Zon Utara 2, Yayasan Kebajikan Negara (YKN), Zulkifli Yaacob yang menyampaikan sumbangan kotak makanan di Kompleks Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia (APM) Kota Setar, hari ini.

Zulkifli berkata, pihaknya akan membantu sumbangan susulan kewangan kepada keluarga ini serta bantuan susulan lain yang diperlukan.

Beliau berkata, sumbangan Bakul Kasih YKN ini adalah hasil sumbangan dari Alliance Bank Islamic untuk mereka 30 pesakit kanser yang terbabit.
