VVD’s solid Henk Kamp will take over as Defense Minister after Ankh Bileveld resigns in the wake of the chaotic evacuation of Kabul last month, and Ben Napen (CDA) diplomatically takes over Sigrid Kerg. take over.

Given that the Cabinet is currently playing the role of caretaker, the unconfirmed but widely expected appointments are temporary.

Kamp, 69, was Minister of Defense from 2002 to 2007, then Social Affairs, and then Minister of Economy. He is currently chairing Actiz, an organization under the umbrella of healthcare providers.

70-year-old Knapen leads the CDA in the Senate. He was Junior Foreign Minister from 2010 to 2012 and later head of the European Investment Bank.
