Juventus takes another point in Derby d’Italia after Dumfries minor foul

VideoInternazionale and Juventus have made little progress with a draw in the 242nd edition of the Derby d’Italia. It was 1-1 in San Siro in Milan, after Juventus received a cheap penalty in the final phase after a light foul by Denzel Dumfries.

Edin Džeko scored the opening goal in San Siro in the 17th minute, after Hakan Çalhanoğlu hit the intersection with a nice drive. For a long time that seemed enough for the victory, but in the 89th minute Paulo Dybala scored the equalizer on behalf of Juventus from eleven meters: 1-1. The visitors from Turin received a very cheap penalty in the final phase, after Denzel Dumfries lightly tapped the Brazilian Alex Sandro on the bottom of his foot. Dumfries came on in the 72nd minute for Ivan Perisic

Stefan de Vrij participated the entire match at Inter. The 29-year-old defender from Ouderkerk aan den IJssel only missed 23 minutes with the champion of Italy this season. Last week, De Vrij lost 3-1 in Stadio Olimpico in Rome against his old club Lazio. Matthijs de Ligt remained on the bench for the entire game at Juventus, which is sixth with 15 points after nine games.

Inter are in third place in Serie A with 18 points after nine games. The defending champion is already seven points behind the shared leaders Napoli and AC Milan.

Napoli drops points for the first time

Napoli is no longer without a loss of points. AS Roma kept the leader of the Serie A in check: 0-0. For the team of coach José Mourinho, that was a small boost after Thursday’s painful defeat in the Conference League against Norwegian FK Bodø/Glimt (6-1).

Former Feyenoord player Rick Karsdorp, as right defender, helped Roma keep ‘zero’ against Napoli, where former PSV players Hirving Lozano and Dries Mertens came on as substitutes in the second half. Karsdorp and Mertens were both yellow during a disturbance deep in injury time.

Napoli now has to share the lead with AC Milan, which won 2-4 against Bologna on Saturday. Both clubs have 25 points after nine matches. Napoli have a better goal difference.
