Juventus 'panicking about the future of star man Matthijs de Ligt '

The agent of Juventus defender Matthijis de Ligt has reportedly been in contact with Chelsea, Manchester City and Barcelona over the possibility of moving his client away from the Italian club.

The 22-year-old joined the Serie A side from Ajax in 2019 for £63million and he has been heavily involved in their charge to regain the title back from Inter Milan this season.

Despite having no issues at the club, his agent Mino Raiola sees it different and he is looking to find De Ligt a new club in the summer and he has already initiated talks with several clubs in Europe.

According to Calciomercato, Raiola has ‘threatened’ to take the Dutch defender away from Juventus at the end of the season.

The super agent has made contact with Chelsea, Manchester City as well as Barcelona – who he was heavily linked with before moving to Italy just over two years ago.

However, Juventus have no plans to sell De Ligt – who has just under three years remaining on his contract.

The 36-time Italian champions are ‘not willing to grant discounts’ and any club looking to acquire the service of the centre-back will have to splash out £126million (€150m). It’s believed that there won’t be many clubs who’ll met their demands.

At the age of just 22, De Ligt is one of the highest rated defenders in Europe and since moving to Italy, he has won Seria A and the Coppa Italia.

Prior to his move in 2019, De ligt became the youngest ever captain in a Champions League knockout game – at the age of just 19 and 186 days old, against Real Madrid. Later that season, he led Ajax to the Champions League semi-final.

Following a slow start to the season, Juventus have now won five league games on the bounce and they currently sit in seventh spot.

'We will remember what Moderna did': Experts say COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers not sharing their technology with poorer countries and building factories played a role in the emergence of the Omicron variant

Moderna has refused to share the formula of its COVID-19 vaccine and says ramping up its own production is quicker than sharing its technologySome experts say this has partly led to the emergence of variants such as the Omicron variant, which was recently detected by researchers in South AfricaThey told DailyMail.com because poorer nations have not been able to get hold of vaccine doses, this allows the coronavirus to mutate and spread more easilyOthers disagree and say that sharing the vaccine formulas is not effective unless factories are also built so doses can be distributed   Read more »
