Justin Roiland will no longer be involved with Rick and Morty after facing domestic abuse allegations and charges.
Adult Swim, the channel behind Rick and Morty, confirmed Roiland’s departure in a new statement to Deadline.
Despite the news, Rick and Morty will continue. Roiland, who co-created the popular animated series with Dan Harmon, had voiced both lead characters since the beginning.

But with Roiland out of the picture, the network reportedly intends to recast the voices of the title stars “Rick Sanchez” and “Morty Smith.”
The animated show with a cult following recently concluded its sixth season. It is also renewed for four additional seasons to come.

And it appears Rick and Morty will survive its creator’s scandal. Justin Roiland is facing felony domestic abuse charges over an alleged incident with a woman in 2020.
Per NBC News, the charges against him are “one count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud or deceit.”
If convicted, Roiland could face up to seven years in prison. Through his lawyer, the star has denied the allegations…
