Debuting all the way back in 2017, Xbox Game Pass has not only remained a core strategy for Microsoft for almost seven years now, but it has become an increasingly more integral part of the company’s focus as time has gone on. And with Activision now joining Microsoft’s first-party ranks alongside Bethesda, Xbox Game Pass is more of a draw than ever before, and it seems likely that the upcoming June 9 Xbox Showcase is going to shine a spotlight on that.

According to Warren’s inside sources, Xbox will also be revealing a new Gears of War game during the showcase.

While this is already great news for Xbox Game Pass subscribers – with all of these titles already being confirmed for the subscription service – Xbox is also teasing a follow-up direct for a specific game. Though this game hasn’t been confirmed yet, Warren, as well as many other industry insiders, believe it’ll be this year’s Call of Duty entry. Being the first showcase since the Activision-Blizzard acquisition, it would make a lot of sense for Xbox to flaunt its newly acquired franchises, and putting Call of Duty in the spotlight feels like an obvious move. While it hasn’t been confirmed yet, there’s a real possibility that 2024’s Call of Duty could be coming to Xbox Game Pass on launch day, and if that’s true, then fans might find out on June 9.
