Emma Raducanu’s victory over Diane Parry on Saturday means Great Britain will be in the Billie Jean King Cup finals in Spain in November.

The British star’s win over the Frenchman followed her triumph over Caroline Garcia while Katie Boulter beat Clara Burel as Anne Keothavong’s team beat France 3-1 over the best-of-five tie.

Raducanu won six break points, conjured up 28 forehand winners and hit four aces against world No.49 Parry for a 4-6 6-1 7-6 win.

Speaking after the match, Raducanu said: ‘I mean a lot of love for the crowd out there in Great Britain, supporting us and coming out here.

‘I’m very pleased to win two points, especially here on clay. We knew how tough it was going to be.

‘I was really pleased to win two points. Boults helped us to go 2-1 up. And the support on the bench to help us go out again. It’s a massive shout out, it’s not just me out there.

‘Especially being a set down, I was backed up against the wall and I didn’t want to go to the doubles because they’re a very strong doubles team.

‘It does feel really good. I need to shout out Ian at home who has been working with me every single day.

‘To be able to play two matches like that back to back, it’s a testament to what I’ve been doing I’m just glad it was able to show.’

Great Britain captain Keothavong added: ‘I think its going to take a lot of work to wipe this smile off my face. What a day! The atmosphere was just absolutely rocking.

‘Katie and Emma came out to play. They put out some fantastic performances against tough opposition.

‘I’m just so chuffed for the team, we came here and we knew it was going to be difficult were the underdogs.

‘But we came, we performed and we’re all leaving with a big smile on our faces.’
