Former Dodgers infielder Amed Rosario has agreed to join the Tampa Bay Rays on a one-year deal that is worth $1.5 million. ESPN’s Jeff Passan was the one to break the news of the agreement between the two sides.

Rosario came to the Dodgers during the trade deadline last season in a trade that sent former pitcher Noah Syndergaard to the Cleveland Guardians. He provided Los Angeles with some nice depth down the stretch of the season, but he failed to make the playoff roster.

He appeared in 48 games with the Dodgers, hitting .256 with three home runs and 18 runs batted in. Rosario gave the Dodgers an additional right-handed bat in the lineup, but he never amounted to what the team had hoped.

Before being dealt to the Dodgers, Rosario put together a decent run with the Guardians. In 94 games, he hit .265 with three home runs and 40 runs batted in.

He has spent time with the New York Mets as well and now heads to Tampa Bay, where he will likely get some consistent playing time. Rosario hits left-handed pitching well, which is something the Rays coveted this offseason.

The veteran infield holds a career batting average of .272 with 60 home runs and 334 runs batted in. We wish him all the best of luck with the Rays throughout next season.
