Map shows Joe Biden's approval ratings in every American state with majority disapproving

The majority of voters in the United States disapprove of the job President Joe Biden has done, according to this political map, created by data from Civiqs, which was last updated on Sunday. Registered voters across all ages and genders disapprove of his presidency. Overall, ahead of the 2024 election, Biden has a net approval rating of 22%.

57% of the overall electorate disapprove of the job the Democrat is doing as President of the United States, while a further 35% approve. These figures are approximately the same as outlined by other pollsters, as America prepares itself for an election.

The data shows that 73% of Democrats approve of Biden, while 96% of Republicans disapprove. Meanwhile, 65% of independents also disapprove of the job the Pennsylvania has done to date in the Oval Office. Since August 2021, Biden’s approval ratings have dropped, reports Newsweek.

A map showing Joe Biden’s popularity by state in the United States

The 81-year-old’s favorability is the lowest of any President in the running for a second term since Ronald Reagan. Biden’s fall in favor while in office is similar to that of his predecessor, Donald Trump, whose approval rating was just 3.6% higher at this stage of his presidency.

Recent polls suggest that half of the electorate believe Biden is too old to serve, with concerns raised over his mental sharpness and age. The President, however, has given questions over his physical and mental health short shrift.

Only voters in three states, according to Civiqs figures, are more likely to have a more favorable view of Biden than a negative one. His tenure as President is most positively viewed in Hawaii where 51% of voters approve of his presidency to date, while 39% disapprove.

He is also viewed more favorably in Maryland, albeit narrowly more at 46% compared to 45% of residents disapproving of his presidency. Likewise, 45% of Massachusetts voters approve of Biden, but 44% disapprove.

The three states are considered to be strongly democratic and Biden carried all three in his successful election in 2020, winning over 60% of the vote. But while the Irish American is popular in these states, the picture is vastly different in others.

Only 19% of West Virginia voters, for example, approve of the job he is doing, with 75% disapproving. In Wyoming, 76% of voters don’t approve of Biden, with only 21% approving. North Dakota (74% disapproval to 21% approval), Idaho and Oklahoma (73% disapproval to 20% approval), and Kentucky (71% disapproval to 21% approval) follow similar patterns when it comes to the President’s low popularity ratings.

The residents of these states voted overwhelmingly in favor of Trump in 2020, with over 60% of voters giving him their preference and cementing their reputation as Republican strongholds.

Based on previous election trends, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina and Pennsylvania are expected to be potential key swing states in the 2024 voting. Cumulatively, Biden currently has a net disapproval rating in the states, but it is less pronounced than in many traditionally red states.

In Florida, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, the President has a net approval rating of 27%, where close to a third view him positively, contrasted with the 60% who view Biden unfavorably.

Biden has a similar net approval rating in Michigan, but young voters in the area have expressed disapproval of his handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict. Meanwhile, in Nevada and North Carolina, the President has a net approval rating of 23% and 22% respectively.
