Johnny de Mol calls Jeroen Rietbergen, his aunt’s former boyfriend, ‘an incredible bastard’. The presenter finds Rietbergen, who crossed the line at The Voice of Holland“A dick the wallpaper, but at the same time I have to say: we love him too,” he said emotionally on Monday in his SBS6 talk show huhLF8.
Where Johnny doubted earlier today whether he was in his talk show HLF8 should talk about the vicissitudes around The Voice of Holland, in which his own family is involved (‘there is a lot of emotion’), he opened his program with it tonight. The program maker said to look at the situation ‘with triple glasses’. “As a person, as a program maker and as a family member,” he says. According to Johnny de Mol, he is ‘not objective enough’ at the moment. “And maybe never.”
In the first broadcast of the new season of HLF8 the roles were immediately reversed. Presenter Catherine Keyl was the wingman by Johnny de Mol and questioned him about the vicissitudes surrounding his family and The Voice of Holland. For example, she asked Johnny de Mol what he would do if his father made mistakes. Johnny didn’t want to get ahead of that just yet.
Until then we can’t say much about it, because we simply don’t know yet

out of proportion
The presenter thinks it is terrible for the people ‘who have come into contact with these misconduct’. But at the same time he also finds it annoying ‘for the other party’. “That is very close to me. I understand that this is not in proportion to the grief of those involved,” said Johnny de Mol. He continues: ,,Until then, we can’t say much about it, because we simply don’t know yet. We as a program want to handle this with the utmost care.”
Or his father John de Mol, who The Voice and was involved in making the program in the beginning, knew about everything that was going on with Rietbergen, Johnny de Mol does not know. He assumes so, but ‘I don’t know how it was all handled then’. He said he has not yet spoken to his father, who has not yet responded to the news.
Jeroen Rietbergen said in his statement on Saturday that he and Linda de Mol had already separated for a while. Johnny de Mol says he didn’t know anything about it. “Nobody knew about that. They hid that.” About Linda de Mol, who has ended her relationship with Jeroen, he says that she is very upset. ,,He is quite confused, yes. You should know that.”
He also says that he thinks Jeroen is an ‘unbelievable bastard’. “It’s really a dick the wallpaper.” Yet he also says: ,,But we do love him. He is ashamed. Linda also has a young daughter who sees him as a bonus father…”
