Ayodhya: A man suffered a heart attack while attending the Pran Pratishtha event at the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today performed the rituals for Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla at the grand temple today.

During the ceremony, the 65-year-old man, identified as Ramkrishna Srivastava, collapsed inside the temple complex and was then evacuated from the site. A timely medical intervention helped save the man’s life as a mobile hospital of Indian Air Force’s (IAF) rapid response team came to his rescue.

“After Ramkrishna Srivastava (65) collapsed inside the temple complex, a team of BHISHM Cube led by Wing Commander Manish Gupta evacuated him within a minute of the incident and provided on-site treatment, capitalising on the critical golden hour – the first hour following a traumatic injury or medical event which is crucial for successful emergency treatment,” PTI quoted a statement.

Upon initial assessment, it was found that Srivastava’s blood pressure level had shot up to dangerously high level of 210/170 mm Hg.

The rapid response team provided him preliminary treatment at the site. Once the patient’s condition stabilised, he was taken to the civil hospital for further observation and specialised care, according to the statement.

Two Cube-BHISHM mobile hospitals under the Arogya Maitri Disaster Management project were deployed in Ayodhya to bolster medical readiness and response capabilities for the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony, according to a statement of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued on Sunday.

These mobile hospitals are equipped with several innovative tools designed to enhance disaster response and medical support during emergencies, the statement added.

Lord Ram Returns To Ayodhya

The Pran Pratishtha ceremony marks the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya after 550 years as the holy city got the grand temple after a Supreme Court verdict that ended decades-long dispute. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an emotional speech at the grand Ayodhya event, welcomed “Prabhu Ram” on his return to Ayodhya after an exile of over 500 years. PM Modi began his address by saying “Humare Ram aa gae hain…”. PM Modi emphasised that “from now on Ram Lalla will not have to stay in a tent”.

The Prime Minister’s address was delivered in the presence of dignitaries from across the country, including renowned film stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Ram Charan, as well as acclaimed singers such as Sonu Nigam and Shankar Mahadevan. The ‘pran pratistha’ of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya marks the culmination of a centuries-old struggle by Hindus to establish a temple at the sacred site believed to be Lord Ram’s birthplace.

He expressed gratitude to the Indian judiciary for ensuring justice, highlighting the nationwide celebrations and the tradition of lighting “Ram Jyoti” in every home across the country.
