John Oates releases 'Reunion,' says no to Hall & Oates team-up
I’m making ready for my review. It was inspired by my 100 year old dad when he was talking about he’s he’s not doing well and he’s going to be making the transition, you know, euphemism for, you know, you know, And he told me that he was going to reunite with mom who has passed away a number of years ago. And that really struck me because I thought about the true meaning of the word reunion, reuniting in a in a more, you know, in a, in a in a more emotional and metaphysical way. You know, of course, there’s an irony with the title when you know, when most people might think, oh, this is this a veiled, you know, message about some sort of Hall and Oates reunion. And quite frankly, it’s not. And I never intended it that way. It’s just, I guess it’s the true irony is that it happens to be an idea that I came up with at this particular moment in time. I’m done and I want to move on. I want to, I want to spend the last creative years of my life exploring things that I find interesting and. Things that give me personal satisfaction, so no.
