Joe Swash says 'biggest shock' of Celeb MasterChef was making everything from scratch

Joe Swash says his journey to the Celebrity MasterChef final has killed his appetite for gravy granules.

Joe, 39, goes into battle tomorrow night with reality star Megan McKenna and Paralympian Kadeena Cox.

And he has vowed to never put convenience over flavour when cooking for his kids and wife Stacey Solomon in the real world.

The former I’m A Celeb winner laughed: “That was the biggest shock I had when I went into the MasterChef kitchen – you don’t get any granules.

“It’s like a half-hour job making gravy from scratch and custard from scratch.

“But since doing MasterChef, I can do it, so no more ready-made stuff.”

It comes after fans have shared their disbelief that Joe has made it to the final.

He has previously admitted that he’s not necessarily a food guru when it comes to cooking up a storm in the kitchen, but nevertheless, he’s continued to impress the judges as the weeks go on.

On Wednesday evening’s instalment of the BBC One show viewers were left fuming as their ‘favourite’ contestant was booted from the show while Joe secured a place in the final.

Love Island star Kem Cetinay said his goodbye after proving that he’s quite the chef in recent weeks.

Defiant fans insisted that Kem was a ‘much better chef’ than the former soap star as they suggested that Joe was the favourite contestant among the judges.

One unimpressed viewer penned: “I don’t understand how Joe is still there but Kem has gone home. I love, love, love Joe but can’t help feel that Kem deserves to be there more.”

“Joe is definitely the judge’s fave. He’s not the best cook and he’s proved that time and time again tbh,” another voiced.

“Nooo! Kem was so good. The show won’t be the same without him. He was much better than Joe,” insisted someone else.

Meanwhile, others backed Joe’s cooking skills.

“Happy he’s still here. Kem was TV gold but Joe deserves it more I reckon,” shared another Celebrity Masterchef fan.

“Awh why is everyone hating on Joe Swash? He’s such a legend and he’s really good in the kitchen. He’s getting better,” another agreed.

The final episode of Celebrity Masterchef will see the stars be put through their paces as they hope to be crowned the winner of Celebrity MasterChef.
