Jimmy Bartel and his new girlfriend Amelia Shepperd have been spotted out together for the first time, just days after debuting their romance on Instagram.

The former Geelong player, 37, had a spring in his step as he went for a stroll with the glamorous executive assistant, 31, in Melbourne on Monday.

It comes after the AFL great declared he’s ‘never been happier’ than he is with Amelia, after difficult splits with ex-wife Nadia Bartel and former flame Lauren Mand.

The pair seemed relaxed and were chatting away as they pounded the pavement in matching all-black outfits.

Office worker Amelia seems to have settled into the WAG role effortlessly, sporting a chic blazer, palazzo trousers and sneakers.

She completed her look with a silver pendant necklace and a Dylan Kain handbag worth about $400.

Amelia was seen smiling at Jimmy in between sips from her water bottle.

Jimmy dressed down in a T-shirt and shorts, a green baseball cap, printed socks and colourful sneakers.

He carried his belongings in a trendy mustard tote bag – clutching both handles in one hand, man-style.

Both sported noticeable tans, suggesting they may have paid a couple’s visit to the salon recently.

Jimmy surprised fans on Thursday by revealing he was no longer dating socialite Lauren Mand, 32, and was instead in a relationship with Amelia.

The footy star shared a photo to Instagram of himself kissing Amelia – known as Milly – in front of the iconic Sydney Harbour skyline.

‘Happy,’ he captioned the post, adding a red love heart emoji.

While not much is known about Milly, she previously worked for Queensland Rugby League.

According to her LinkedIn profile, she was the executive assistant to the managing director and chief operations officer of QRL from July 2019 to March 2021.

She has since returned to her home city of Melbourne after spending several years in Brisbane for her job.

Milly runs in the same celebrity WAG circles as Jimmy’s ex-wife, Nadia Bartel, and appears to be friends with Jessie Murphy, the wife of former Carlton captain Marc Murphy.

They have reportedly been together ever since he split from Lauren, whom he began dating after his separation from Nadia, 36, in 2019.

Jimmy and Lauren had been the subject of break-up rumours last December after fans noticed it’d been months since he had shared a photo with her on social media.

Lauren responded to the rumours earlier in the year, changing her Instagram profile picture to a photo of herself and Jimmy.

She has since changed it to a photo of just herself, and her last post on Instagram was in September 2020, to mark their first anniversary.

Jimmy’s romance with Lauren first made headlines in 2019, following his very public split from Nadia.

In September 2019, Daily Mail Australia revealed that Lauren was planning to move back to Australia after spending several months living in England.

Jimmy and Nadia announced their split on August 15, 2019 – about two months after Nadia moved out of their marital home in Melbourne.

They were married in February 2014 in a lavish ceremony on the Bellarine Peninsula, and share two sons, Aston, six, and Henley, three.
