Jetzt dürfen Berner Schulen ihr Französisch­lehrmittel selber wählen

Seit ihrer Einführung stehen die Französischlehrmittel «Mille feuilles» und «Clin d’oeil» im Kanton Bern in der Kritik. Nun werden weitere Lehrmittel zugelassen.

Die Schulen im Kanton Bern erhalten ab Sommer 2022 die Möglichkeit, unter mehreren Französischlehrmitteln auszuwählen. Damit dürfte ein jahrelanger Streit um die Lehrmittel «Mille feuilles» und «Clin d’oeil» entschärft werden.

Die beiden Lehrmittel des Schulverlags Plus stehen seit ihrer Einführung vor Jahren in der Kritik. Sie verfolgen den Ansatz des Sprachbads: Kinder sollen in eine Sprache eintauchen und spielerisch lernen, ohne allzu viel Grammatik büffeln zu müssen.

Verschiedene Kantone entlang der Sprachgrenze hatten sich in den Nullerjahren zusammengetan, um den Fremdsprachenunterricht zu harmonisieren. Die beiden Lehrmittel waren in diesen Kantonen Pflicht. 2016 mussten die Kantone nachsitzen und die Lehrmittel verbessern. Namentlich mehr Grammatik war gefragt.

Die Stimmen, die eine freie Lehrmittelwahl verlangten, wurden immer zahlreicher, so dass erste Kantone aus dem Projekt ausscherten. 2020 weichte auch das Berner Kantonsparlament die Lehrmittelpflicht auf.

Ab Sommer 2022 stehen den Schulen neu auch die Lehrmittel des Klett Verlags «ça roule» für die Primarstufe und «ça bouge»/ «C’est ça» für die Sekundarstufe I sowie das Lehrmittel des Schulverlags Zürich «dis-donc” für die (Primar- und Sekundarstufe I) zur Verfügung.

Die Lehrmittel wurden in Praxistestklassen auf den verschiedenen Schulstufen erprobt, wie die bernische Bildungsdirektion am Dienstag mitteilte.
