Roadworks will commence on a busy Leicester Road, during the February half term.
Week-long roadworks are set to begin on a busy Leicester street over the February half term. Road repairs are being carried out at Victoria Road East, in the city’s North Evington and Troon wards, from Saturday, February 17.
The road improvements costing around £138,000, cover the section from Cordelia Close up to and including the Hastings Road junction, which covers 3,671 square metres. According to Leicester City Council, full road closure will be in place, along with some local parking restrictions.
Leicester deputy city mayor for climate, economy and culture, Cllr Adam Clarke, said: “The work is part of this financial year’s annual £4m highways maintenance capital programme. Ongoing maintenance is part of the work needed to keep the city’s roads in good condition.
“These works are taking place during the school holidays when there is less traffic on the roads, and a local diversion will be in place to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum.”
