Jennifer Lopez reveals it was hubby Ben Affleck's idea to have their secret Vegas wedding ahead of big lavish nuptials: 'It took all the pressure off'

Jennifer Lopez revealed on Wednesday that it was her husband Ben Affleck’s idea to have a secret Las Vegas wedding in July last year.
The American actress, 53, appeared on Sunrise to promote her new movie Shotgun Wedding and admitted she finds large wedding ceremonies ‘very stressful’.
The New York-born star said her reservations about hosting a big wedding led to Ben, 50, suggesting they elope in a small ceremony in Las Vegas.

‘You have all these expectations you can’t control and that’s why Ben and I decided to get married a month before in Vegas,’ she told Sunrise’s showbiz correspondent Steve Hargrave.
‘It was his idea and I thought it was brilliant. It took all the pressure off about the big wedding we were going to have with our families,’ she added.
The pair eloped in a private ceremony on July 16 last year before hosting a larger ceremony for friends and family at Ben’s $8.9 million estate the following month.

Jennifer detailed their journey to the altar on her newsletter On The JLo, where she shared how the couple read their own vows and opted not to pay extra for an Elvis impersonator during the intimate ceremony.
Ben was first engaged to JLo in the early aughts, and after their split he was married to Jennifer Garner for a decade until 2015.
Years after his divorce, Ben and JLo rekindled their romance in 2021 and officially tied the knot in Las Vegas last July.

After the small Vegas wedding, they honeymooned in Paris before throwing a massive affair in August at a plantation-style estate in Georgia.
Ben and Jennifer Garner share three children – Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 10 – whom they co-parent amicably.
J-Lo meanwhile welcomed her own 14-year-old twins Max and Emme with her third and latest ex-husband Marc Anthony.
