Jarome Iginlan poika tulee Suomeen!

Legendaarisen NHL-maalitykin Jarome Iginlan poika Tij Iginla liittyy Kanadan U18-joukkueen mukaan Suomessa torstaina käynnistyviin MM-kisoihin.

Kanadan jääkiekkoliitto kertoo, että Iginla on viimeinen 25 pelaajan MM-joukkueeseen nimetty pelaaja.

17-vuotias Iginla oli tällä kaudella Kanadan juniorisarja WHL:n parhaimmistoa. Tulevan kesän varaustilaisuudessa kärkikymmenikköön arvioitu toisen polven mailataituri mätti Kelowna Rocketsin riveissä 63 runkosarjaottelussa hurjat 47 maalia ja 84 tehopistettä.

Isä Jarome pelasi NHL:ssä vuosina 1996-2017 kaikkiaan 1554 runkosarjaottelua, joissa hän teki 625 maalia ja 1300 tehopistettä. Calgary Flames -legenda voitti Kanadan mukana kahdesti olympiakultaa sekä kertaalleen maailmanmestaruuden.

Alle 18-vuotiaiden MM-kisat alkaa torstaina Espoossa ja Vantaalla. B-lohkoon sijoitettu Kanada pelaa ottelunsa Tikkurilassa, kun taas Suomi pelaa omat ottelunsa Espoon A-lohkossa.
