PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Rogelio Quevedo as commissioner of the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG), Malacañang said on Thursday.
Quevedo was a member of the Government Corporate Counsel, a team of lawyers servicing government corporations and financial institutions, including the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp.

The PCGG, which is under the supervision of the Department of Justice, was originally created to recover the alleged ill-gotten wealth of the late former president Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr., the President’s father.
Among Marcos’ campaign promises was to strengthen the role of the PCGG against graft and corruption in the government.
“Instead of directing themselves against the Marcoses only, I mean, if I have a corrupt relative, his name will come out, but not only us, everyone. We are in another period. That (ill-gotten wealth) is no longer the issue. The issue is just graft and corruption in the government,” Marcos said.
