The Swedish singer-songwriter took to Instagram on Monday with the revelation, leaving fans shocked as she teaches them the correct way to say it.

The 34-year-old looked sensation in the short clip as she donned a busty purple top and bold pink eyeshadow ahead of her latest performance.

Grammy-nominated Tove – best known for her worldwide 2014 smash Habits – said: ‘Alright, it’s time that I addressed this. my name, how to pronounce it. The Swedish way is Tove lo, Tove Lo.

‘The international way that I embraced is Tove Lo. So you can think of it as Voulez Vous, Tove Lo. Voulez Vous, Tove Lo. Voulez Vous, Tove Lo.

‘So that’s that. But i will still answer to Tove Lo. I say sometimes to make sure that people know what the f**k I’m talking about, me. But you know, keep the discussions going, it’s interesting.’

Tove Lo has recently released a new single True Romance and announced her fifth album Dirt Femme.

Speaking about her new album in an Instagram statement she said: ‘It’s about me and my relationship with my femininity.’

She added: ‘When I started out as a writer and an artist, I used to view my feminine traits as weaker and would enhance my masculine traits to get ahead in life.

‘I feel a big energy shift in my environment since then, and this album reflects the various ways my feminine side has both helped and hurt me.

She continued: ‘I’m a pansexual woman married to a straight man. I believe masculine and feminine lives on a spectrum in all humans. There are so many more interesting nuances than most people want to accept.

‘Songs on this album will contradict each other, will probably upset some of you, will make you want to dance, cry, fuck and drive your car really really fast.’

She has also collaborated on songs with the likes of British DJ Jax Jones, Australian singer Kylie Minogue and English singer Charli XCX.

Tove Lo is currently on tour this summer, with stops across North America, Australia, Europe and the United Kingdom.
