During the Tampa Bay Lightning’s most recent contest against the Ottawa Senators, forward Tyler Motte left the game early after blocking a shot with his foot.
After blocking Tkachuk’s shot, Motte was in clear discomfort and needed help from Erik Cernak and Nick Paul to get off the ice. From there, he limped toward the dressing room.

After seeing this, there was great concern regarding Motte. However, the Lightning have now provided an update on his injury, and it appears that he has dodged a bullet. Motte is being considered day-to-day, and it seems likely that he will be good to go for the beginning of the postseason.
With Motte being a key part of the Bolts’ forward depth, hearing that his injury doesn’t appear to be serious is excellent news. In 69 games this season, the 28-year-old has six goals, nine points, and 97 hits.
