Lasya Nanditha Dies In Accident: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA G Lasya Nanditha, 37, died in a car accident on the outskirts of Telangana’s Hyderabad in the wee hours of Friday, the police informed. The mishap reportedly took place when Lasya Nanditha’s driver lost control of the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) she was travelling in and the vehicle subsequently rammed into a divider on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Patancheru of Sangareddy district.
“The driver of the Sports Utility Vehicle – Maruti XL6 – appears to have lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the metal barrier on the left side of the expressway, killing her on the spot,” a police official was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times. The driver of the car sustained serious injuries and his condition is said to be critical. According to reports, he was rushed to a nearby private hospital in Patancheru.
Lasya Nanditha, who was a first-time MLA, was elected from the Secunderabad Cantonment constituency in the 2023 Telangana Assembly election. She had escaped with minor injuries in a road accident on February 13 at Narketpally when she was on her way to Nalgonda to participate in BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s public meeting. A home guard was killed in the accident.
Lasya Nanditha’s father and five-time MLA from Secunderabad constituency, G Sayanna had passed away on February 19, 2023 due to illness. He was survived by three daughters. Reacting to Lasya Nanditha’s death on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy posted, “The untimely death of Cantonment legislator Lasya Nandita left me deeply shocked. I had a close relationship with Nandita’s father Swargiya Sayanna. He passed away in the same month last year… It is very sad that Nandita also died suddenly in the same month. My deepest condolences to their family…I pray to God to rest her soul in peace.”
