Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continued their winning run and registered a second consecutive victory over Gujarat Titans (GT) in IPL 2024. The Faf du Plessis-led side chased down the target of 148 at the loss of six wickets. RCB looked set to complete the target with ease but suffered a scare in the middle overs. They only batted for 13.4 overs in the chase.

RCB moved to the seventh spot following their win over GT. Their win hurt Mumbai Indians (MI) the most and they are now reeling at the last spot. The Hardik Pandya-led side has just managed to win 3 out of 11 matches and is at the last spot.

MI only have 6 points in their account at an NRR of -0.356. RCB have 4 wins from 11 matches. They have 8 points at an NRR of -0.049. MI are all but out of IPL 2024 while RCB don’t have a strong chance either. Winning the rest of their three matches might not be enough for RCB and they will require the results of other matches to go their way.

Virat Kohli moved to the top spot in the list of batsmen with the most runs and once again holds the Orange Cap. The RCB opener has 542 runs in 11 matches. He is followed by Ruturaj Gaikwad, who has 509 runs. The Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) captain claimed the Orange Cap during his 62-run knock against Punjab Kings (PBKS).

CSK are set to square off against PBKS on Sunday (May 5) and the CSK opener will have another chance to claim the Orange Cap. Riyan plays for Rajasthan Royals. Lucknow Super Giants opener, KL Rahul has 406 runs in 10 matches and sits at the fifth spot.
