Indian Army conducts anti-tank guided missile exercise at 17,000ft in Sikkim

The Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army conducted a training exercise of Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) at a Super High-Altitude Area of 17000ft in the north Indian state of Sikkim.

The official press release mentioned that the missile-firing detachments from Mechanised and Infantry Units of the entire Eastern Command participated in the training exercise.

With this training exercise, the Indian Army focused on comprehensive continuity training and live firing from different platforms on moving as well as static targets. These situations depict battlefield conditions.

In a social media post, Trishakti Corps wrote, “Precision meets freezing altitudes of 17000 feet and above, for the Warriors of the East”.

“The firing dovetailed with battlefield inoculation demonstrated that no target is beyond reach against the will of Indian Soldiers in most adverse conditions,” the post mentioned.

The ATGM Detachments demonstrated the capability to neutralise armoured threats with unparalleled lethality, ensuring mission success on treacherous mountains.

The release said that the ATGM system’s performance in high-altitude environments is a signal of the main aim of “Ek Missile Ek Tank”.

The exercise showcased the accuracy and effectiveness of the ATGM system in Super High-Altitude terrain.
