The Intersection Music Trio will be performing at the Bartlesville Community Center at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be the second act in the Bartlesville Community Concert Association’s 2021-22 concert series.
A combination of soulful expression, instrumental virtuosity and playful banter, Intersection music is a blend of classical, jazz, Latin and Broadway music.
The Intersection Trio replaces the originally scheduled Janoska Ensemble, a classical quartet from Bratislava, Slovakia, who were limited by international travel restrictions.
As a trio, and as solo performers, the young musicians of Intersection have garnered great praise. Hailed for her “sublime cello prowess” (Take Effect), “absorbing originality” (Gramophone) and “mesmerizing beauty” (NY Music Daily), internationally-acclaimed Canadian cellist Arlen Hlusko has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician across North America, Asia and Europe.
Grammy-nominated pianist John Novacek regularly tours the Americas, Europe and Asia as concerto soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. Violinist Laura Frautschi has established a reputation as a versatile musician with a strong commitment to contemporary as well as classical repertoire. In addition to international touring, she has frequently appeared with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and New York Philharmonic, and can be seen on such TV shows as Saturday Night Live, Late Show with Conan O’Brien and on Broadway in Hello, Dolly.
