HOMES Under the Hammer star Martin Roberts has given fans a glimpse inside his stunning Welsh farmhouse transformation.

The 58-year-old presenter completely overhauled the historic property that he purchased last year.

The Full Monty star decided to put his renovation skills into practice for his own project after snapping up the house located in Rhondda, Wales, which is also one of the oldest properties in the area.

The period property is a well-loved four-bedroom former farmhouse of
local importance, set within a private garden that surrounds it and
behind a gated entrance.

As well as the exposed ceiling beams in many of the rooms and a number
of feature fireplaces, the house can boast casement windows, stone
walls, flagstone floor and an impressive entrance porch.

The house achieved its Grade II* listing from Cadw in 1972, amended
1996, for being 'an important example of a large, mid 17th-century
farmhouse because of its rare surviving, good quality interior timber
details'.

The porch boasts of an original solid wood front door, the house flows into the kitchen diner and then two generous reception rooms.

The kitchen has a large island in the middle with lots of beams, stoned walls, a fireplace and a sofa.

The TV star has kept significant period features and opted to expose more beams and revealed sections of some of the stone walls.

The living room has a cosy atmosphere with more sofas clustered around the fireplace, which now houses a working log burner.

The second reception room has an impressive fireplace, an inglenook with chunky wood mantel beam and another log burner taking centre stage on the slate hearth.

Martin has kept the tones neutral throughout the house and can enjoy the benefits of a downstairs utility room and bathroom have been updated.

On the first floor, all four bedrooms have undergone a huge transformation with three of the ceilings being taken down to expose the roof structure and make them the focus of each space.

The property expert has kept the furniture simple and understated opting for classic pieces.

However, Martin's latest purchase may not be all it's cracked up to be – with rumours that it's inhabited by ghosts.

The farmhouse will feature on an episode of Celebrity Help! My House is Haunted, due to air in February on Discovery+.

The ghost experts will chat to Martin and potentially meet the spooky residents that are said to reside there.

The programme finds that there are four spirits inside the home, a woman, two children and a man sat in the living room with a shotgun.

However, Martin is not at all phased about the haunted aspect of his new
Welsh property.
