Sky News contributor Evelyn Rae says the Black Summer bushfire recovery funding could have been used “better elsewhere” than for a queer formal.

A queer formal is being partly funded by NSW council and government, from the Black Summer bushfire recovery program.

Children as young as 12 are set to attend the drag queen hosted formal.

Ms Rae told Sky News host Andrew Bolt that it is denying “logic” and “reason”.

“If you spoke to any family or any person or any business who suffered from these bushfires … you can’t convince me that they think this would be money well spent.”
