Sky News host Peta Credlin has called out Anthony Albanese’s strategy around the Dunkley by-election, saying the Prime Minister’s obviously “running scared”.
“Every time he’s asked, the Prime Minister and his frontbench claim that the average anti-government swing in a by-election is seven per cent,” Ms Credlin said.
“Plainly, Anthony Albanese is taking out insurance against a cliff-hanger result, or even losing the seat on the weekend – whatever happens, he wants to be able to say “nothing to see here”.
‘Running scared’: Credlin calls out PM’s by-election swing claim as ‘rubbish’
Ms Credlin cited figures from past by-elections which prove the Prime Minister’s claim is “rubbish”.
“It’s utter fiction.
“But like so much this bloke does, he thinks if he repeats the line over and over again, he might just get away with it.”
