Pitso must release 13 Kaizer Chiefs players – Khanye
Former Kaizer Chiefs attacker Junior Khanye believes Cavin Johnson is not so bad. Instead, the Amakhosi squad is not of the right standard and quality.
KAIZER CHIEFS PLAYERS WORRY JUNIOR KHANYE
A desperate Kaizer Chiefs team arrived in Durban on Sunday hungry for a first win in five games after failing to score in three matches. Unfortunately for Amakhosi, a turn was not found. Cavin Johnson’s side suffered a 1-0 defeat and Amakhosi slipped down to 10th place with only one win in 10 matches. According to iDiskiTV’s Junior Khanye, even Pitso Mosimane would struggle with the current Kaizer Chiefs team.
“There are deep problems at Kaizer Chiefs. Deep problems,” Khanye said on iDiski TV.
“They might think Cavin Johnson is the problem but he is not. Yes, I don’t agree with some of Cavin’s tactical decisions but he is not the only problem at [Kaizer] Chiefs. These players are average.
“You can get Pitso Mosimane to coach these players and he would need to get rid of at least 13 players here. The problems at this club are deep.
“The best clubs in the world have good scouting. Getting players who suit the style and culture of the club. Kaizer Chiefs don’t have a good scouting department. That’s why they sign low-class players like Christian Saile who has played in lower leagues in Zambia. They don’t do proper assessments!
“[Kaizer] Chiefs can change the coach but they still need to change a lot of things there – their development structure, their scouting department, the management! There is a lot of work that needs to be done at [Kaizer] Chiefs.
“It’s not about losing to Richards Bay, it’s about the last 10 years. This club has completely lost its way!” Khanye concluded.
AMAKHOSI TARGET RUI VITORIA
Reports say Kaizer Chiefs’ caching hunt has a leading candidate. The club have confirmed a new face and name will be on the bench next season. Reports say former Benfica and Egypt coach Rui Vitoria is one of the leading candidates. Let’s have a quick look at his achievements.
According to FARPost, Portuguese coach Rui Vitoria has emerged as one of Kaizer Chiefs’ hottest targets for next season. Amakhosi are set to appoint a new tactician to replace Molefi Ntseki and his interim successor, Cavin Johnson. Victoria is currently a free agent after leaving the Egypt national team after Afcon 2023 where the Pharaohs lost on penalties to DR Congo in the final 16.
Why is Victoria a big target for Kaizer Chiefs?
Not only has the 54-year-old tasted the pressure of a massive club like Benfica, but Vitoria also won the Portuguese league on two occasions, as well as the Saudi Pro League with Al-Nassr.
Full list of EIGHT career titles:
- Portuguese Cup – 2012/13 with Vitória Guimarães SC
- Portuguese Cup – 2012/2013 with Benfica
- Portuguese champion – 2015/2016 with Benfica
- Portuguese League Cup – 2015/2016 with Benfica
- Portuguese champion – 2016/2017 with Benfica
- Portuguese Super Cup – 2016/2017
- Saudi Arabian Champion – 2018/2019 with Al Nassr
- Saudi Arabia Super Cup – 2019/20.
