Tiger Woods’ score today: Complete Round 2 results, highlights from 2024 Masters

Death, taxes, Tiger Woods making the cut at the Masters.

The five-time Masters champion made his triumphant return to Augusta National, playing through pain and plenty of obstacles. None of them were able to deny the 48-year-old from completing the first two rounds in style, finishing at one over par after 36 holes.

TIGER TRACKER: Follow Tiger Woods’ Round 3 updates from 2024 Masters

Weather delays cut the first round short, forcing Woods to play 23 holes on day two — something that seemed destined to signal the end of Woods’ incredible run at the Masters.

Instead, he did what he always does, and that’s make the cut. It’s the record 24th consecutive time that Woods has qualified to play beyond the second round at Augusta.

Woods was noticeably absent from the course over the last few months following his withdrawal at the Genesis Invitational. He showed no signs of being hurt, though, routinely displaying great strength and routinely hitting fairways. Around the greens, he was magical.

Woods will head into Round 3 at one over after finishing even for Round 2. He managed to record a par on eight of the last 10 holes Friday and will look to carry over that momentum into the weekend, where he’ll make one last charge for a sixth green jacket.

The Sporting News tracked Tiger’s scores, highlights, and placements from the first round of the 2024 Masters.

Hole 18, Par 4

Shot 4: Par for Woods! He’s made the cut for the 24th consecutive time — a record.

Shot 3: He just makes it look so easy, setting up another opportunity for par to end the day.

Shot 2: The second shot misses the green, but Woods has been able to save himself all day long.

Shot 1: One more tee shot from Woods today, means we get to say this for the last time today — another fairway.

Hole 17, Par 4

Shot 4: And he adds another par to the scorecard.

Shot 3: That chip will leave a little to be desired for Woods, who has a little longer effort to save par.

Shot 2: He flies one over the green and now has plenty of work left to save par.

Shot 1: Woods has become a frequent visitor of the fairways today and that won’t change at 17.

Hole 16, Par 3

Shot 3: He knocks in the par and heads to 17 in a good spot.

Shot 2: Close! Woods can tap in for par, with only two more holes to go to wrap up a good day.

Shot 1: Woods lands this one safely on the green.

Hole 15, Par 5

Shot 4: Everything goes according to plan and Woods is back to 1 over.

Shot 3: An eagle attempt falls short, but Woods can tap in for birdie and continue his day at even par.

Shot 2: OH YEAH! Woods follows up a disappointing effort at 14 with landing this shot on the green where he can two-putt for birdie.

Shot 1: Another tee shot, another ball that lands in the fairway. Woods needs to get back on track here.

Hole 14, Par 4

Shot 5: Woods taps in for bogey and is 2 over for the tournament, 1 over for the round. More importantly, he drops to T38, meaning the dreaded cut line is now in play.

Shot 4: This one goes high and that’s a troublesome result.

Shot 3: Woods gets it back onto the green, but leaves it well short. It will take a big effort to avoid a bogey here.

Shot 2: OH NO! Woods’ mishit lands amongst the fans and could spell trouble at the 14th.

Shot 1: The tee continues to be a safe place for Woods during the Masters. He rockets another one into the fairway.

Hole 13, Par 5

Shot 5: We hope you like pars because there’s another one. Make that five consecutive holes with a par.

Shot 4: Woods would probably like a few more birdies on his scorecard today, but the pars won’t hurt. He looks primed for another one here.

Shot 3: That birdie opportunity won’t be presenting itself, as the ball rolls back off the ledge. He’ll need a two-putt to save par.

Shot 2: Woods is in a good spot to fly one to the green after this shot, which could result in a birdie opportunity. After four consecutive pars, Woods could use a birdie to give himself a cushion against the cut line.

Shot 1: The tee shot is another good result and he avoids the pesky trees up the right side.

Hole 12, Par 3

Shot 3: There’s another par as Woods comes down to the final six holes of the day.

Shot 2: Another par appears to be on the menu, with the second shot landing just short of the hole.

Shot 1: Just like yesterday, Woods sends this tee shot into the bushes. Unlike yesterday, this one bounces back onto the green — a fortunate result, but one he’ll take at this point.

Hole 11, Par 4

Shot 4: Momentum continues for Woods, who knocks down another par.

Shot 3: That is a beauty from him and sets up a six foot effort for par to continue marching towards making the cut.

Shot 2: The second shot doesn’t land on the green, meaning there is plenty of work left to do in order to save par. A crucial pitch is coming up.

Shot 1: There won’t be any danger for Woods to find after that tee shot. He’s safe in the fairway.

Hole 10, Par 4

Shot 4: Another par for Woods’ scorecard is making his chances of making the cut increase by the moment.

Shot 3: The long distance effort goes just a little wide, but this is another chance for Woods to convert for par.

Shot 2: He places this one safely on the green, setting up for a likely two-putt to convert another par.

Shot 1: Woods continues his impressive work off the tee, landing safely in the fairway after a great drive.

Hole 9, Par 4

Shot 4: SAVE! He knocks down the par to remain above the cut line.

Shot 3: The rollercoaster ride continues as Woods gives himself a chance to save par after a bad tee shot.

Shot 2: LOOK OUT! Woods sends one into the paying fans in attendance with a laser coming out of the trees.

Shot 1: Woods might be in danger after a wayward tee shot lands amongst the trees.

Hole 8, Par 5

Shot 4: Birdie for Woods! He matches his three bogeys with three birdies, bringing the scorecard to even for the day and 1 over for the tournament.

Shot 3: Just what the doctor ordered for Woods, who lands one perfectly within four feet of the hole. This is a must-have for him at this point, with the cut line coming into play.

Shot 2: A solid second shot puts him in great position to chip one onto the green and set up a possible birdie opportunity.

Shot 1: Woods hits a beauty off the tee, landing one right in the fairway.

Hole 7, Par 4

Shot 5: No further damage at the 7th as Woods settles for bogey.

Shot 4: The ball breaks just barely to the right and doesn’t drop, forcing Woods to tap in for bogey — his third of the day.

Shot 3: Nice save getting out of the sand gives him a chance to save par.

Shot 2: Disaster strikes as Woods finds the bunker instead of the green.

Shot 1: Good drive by Woods off the tee curves perfectly and lands in the fairway to start the hole.

Hole 6, Par 3

Shot 2: Woods with a vintage chip shot for birdie to get one back. He needed some magic to get back off the cut line, and that certainly will help him out.

Shot 1: Woods’ shot off the tee doesn’t quite reach the green, but it does avoid rolling down into the bunker.

Hole 5, Par 4

Shot 5: Make it back-to-back bogeys for Woods as he has to tap-in the putt. That puts him 2 over and right on the cut line.

Shot 4: The putt for par was close, particularly considering how long it was, but it winds up hooking just left at the end.

Shot 3: Woods reaches the green, but he’s going to need a long putt to save par.

Shot 2: Woods lays up to try and set himself up for par.

Shot 1: Tough drive by Woods as he hits it into the bunker to start the hole. That’s a difficult place to begin the par 4 fifth hole.

Hole 4, Par 3

Shot 4: Tap-in secures the bogey. Woods is back to 1 over.

Shot 3: The putt rolls past the hole, and he has to settle for a bogey.

Shot 2: A decent approach by Woods gets him a putt away from the hole. It could still be a difficult one to land correctly to stay at par.

Shot 1: Again fighting against the wind, Woods fires his tee shot to the left, hoping it’ll break right. Instead, it stays left and just narrowly avoids the bunker.

Hole 3, Par 4

Shot 3: Battling some strong winds, Woods rolls in the birdie putt to fall back to even.

Shot 2: Incredible shot by Woods that lands just a few feet of the hole. He’ll have a great look at birdie on this upcoming putt.

Shot 1: Sometimes, luck goes your way. After an unlucky putt on the second hole, Woods slices a drive to the right, only for it to carom off a tree and back into the fairway. A solid start for the par 4.

Hole 2, Par 5

Shot 5: Woods taps it in for par.

Shot 4: That was about as close to perfection as it gets. Woods hit the curve perfectly in the green and nearly got it to drop. Instead, it comes to a halt just on the lip of the cup.

Shot 3: Woods gets himself back onto the green and now will have a chance to putt for birdie.

Shot 2: Woods hits a powerful shot that hits the green and bounces into the crowd. That likely went a bit farther than he anticipated.

Shot 1: Woods’ tee shot carries 289 yards and gets a bit of a roll down the middle of the fairway on the par-5 second hole. A good start for him as he looks to pick up his first birdie since the 13th hole in the first round.

Hole 1, Par 4

Shot 4: Woods finishes the hole off at par.

Shot 3: Woods can’t get the putt for birdie to bend far enough to the left, and he has to settle for the tap-in par.

Shot 2: Really solid iron shot by Woods as he drops the ball in the green in a spot to have a long putt for birdie or two putts for par.

Shot 1: Woods is the first to tee off in his featured group, and he kicks it off with a decent drive down the fairway that hooks slightly toward the left.

Tiger Woods live updates, highlights from Round 1 at 2024 Masters

(All times Eastern)

Hole 18, Par 4

Shot 5: Woods makes the putt, and he’ll settle for the bogey. He wraps up the first round at the Masters 1 over.

Shot 4: The putt carries a little bit to the right. He’ll have another shot at least to have bogey.

Shot 3: Nearly a miracle shot for Woods as his sand wedge shot nearly races into the hole. However, it winds up going a bit past the hole to the edge of the green. He’ll have a tricky putt for par.

Shot 2: Tricky up-and-down upcoming for Woods as his iron sails into the bunker.

Shot 1: Another strong start for Woods as he drives it down the fairway, with the ball hooking just a bit to the right at the end.

Hole 17, Par 4

Shot 4: The easy putt is knocked down, and Woods will head to the 18th at an even par.

Shot 3: Woods’ putt was left a few feet short of the hole. The shot gets him closer to making par, but it never really had much of a chance of picking up a birdie.

Shot 2: Great approach by Woods to land on the green with a layup, giving him a chance at a long putt for birdie and another chance to secure at least par.

Shot 1: The 17th and 18th have been problematic for others in the first round, but Woods gets off to a hot start with a drive straight down the fairway.

Hole 16, Par 3

Shot 3: Woods sinks the par putt to stay even through 16.

Shot 2: Not quite enough behind the putt from Woods as it stops a bit short and cuts a bit to the right. It should be a manageable putt for him to make par.

Shot 1: Armed with the 7 iron, Woods overshoots the hole by a bit off the tee. It rolls a little closer to the hole, but he’ll still be set up with a long putt for par.

Hole 15, Par 5

Shot 5: He makes it look easy, sinking the putt to stay at par through the first round.

Shot 4: Impressive touch by Woods as he putts the ball just barely to the left of the pin. He should have a great opportunity at par on his next shot.

Shot 3: Woods’ shot carries a bit too far, sailing over the green and bouncing into the rough just beyond.

Shot 2: Woods gets a bit closer, laying up 70 yards away from the hole, just in front of the lake.

Shot 1: A promising start for Woods on the par 5 15th hole as he hits the fairway with a drive down the middle.

Hole 14, Par 4

Shot 5: Woods moves back to par in Round 1 after he taps it in.

Shot 4: Woods’ putt comes up just around the right of the hole, and he’ll have to settle for a bogey.

Round 1 suspended

Because of the earlier weather delays, Woods and the others on the course are unable to finish the first round. The horn sounded on the 13th hole for Woods’ group, with the incoming darkness forcing the suspension of play.

Play will resume on Friday morning at 7:50 a.m. ET, with coverage on ESPN picking up Woods’ group at 8 a.m. ET.

The 48-year-old looked great in his return to the golf course. He was moving well and had a positive day with the club, finishing the first 13 holes at 1 under. The real test will come on Friday when Woods plays 23 holes. Although if Thursday was any indication, the concerns shouldn’t be too high as Woods tries to make the cut for the 24th consecutive time at the Masters.

Hole 13, Par 5

Shot 5: Sure enough, he taps in for an easy par on what was a solid day for Woods.

Shot 4: Woods plays it safe again, leaving it a little short. He should have no problem tapping in for par and putting the finish on a successful day.

Shot 3: After escaping danger, Woods twirls the club and puts the ball on the green, continuing what’s been a solid showing for the 48-year-old. The horn sounds, however, signaling that this will be the last hole of play today.

Shot 2: A ground ball through the hole for a trip back to the fairway was on the menu for Woods, who opted to play it safe.

Shot 1: That was the first wayward tee shot we’ve seen in a while from Woods, who finds the trees. He might have to chip one out to the fairway or hit a low ball to avoid more danger. This one won’t be easy.

Hole 12, Par 3

Shot 3: Dead center from Woods, who saves par from five feet out to walk away from the 12th at 1 under.

Shot 2: The second shot does land on the green and that chance to save par does come to fruition.

Shot 1: Woods misses the green and sends one into the pine straw. He should be able to land the next one on the green with a chance to save par.

Hole 11, Par 4

Shot 4: Mother Nature didn’t have anything to say and Woods taps in for the easy par.

Shot 3: OH WOW! A picture-perfect shot from Woods essentially guarantees par unless Mother Nature has something to say. That was a beautiful approach taken by Woods.

Shot 2: This shot lands just short of the green, which is overall a good spot to be in. He should be able to chip it onto the green for another par opportunity.

Shot 1: Another quality drive from Tiger into the fairway is how he’ll start the 11th. He’s been solid off the tee today, outside of a couple of miscues early on.

Hole 10, Par 4

Shot 4: Mark it down — par at the 10th.

Shot 3: A BEAUTY! Woods extracts that ball from the bunker and settles it next to the hole. This should be another par, which would be his seventh of the day.

Shot 2: That initial result did prove costly as Woods puts one in the bunker.

Shot 1: The tee shot is fine, but not great. He’s on the fairway, but the angle isn’t a good one to land this ball on the green.

Hole 9, Par 4

Shot 4: He drops it in for par to stay at 1-under.

Shot 3: Woods flirts with a birdie, but the ball had other ideas. He’ll tap in for an easy par after another well-played hole.

Shot 2: Tiger drops one onto the green, with some work left to do, but he’ll have a good chance to snag another par for the scorecard.

Shot 1: Another beauty off the tee from Woods. A 177 MPH drive travels 312 yards to the right side of the fairway. He is locked in and showing no signs of breaking down as we approach the halfway point of the opening round.

Hole 8, Par 5

Shot 4: BURIES IT! Woods birdies the eighth with a nice two putt to put a bow on a great sequence.

Shot 3: Woods sets himself up with a chance to go back to 1-under.

Shot 2: Another solid shot lands on the green, with about 41 feet and two shots to go if Woods wants to secure a birdie here.

Shot 1: There’s been plenty of talk about Woods’ injury, but the guy is hitting lasers right now, sending this one 324 yards into the fairway.

Hole 7, Par 4

Shot 4: Sure enough, another par.

Shot 3: A great shot out of the bunker means that another par is likely on the menu for Tiger.

Shot 2: Perhaps there was some luck in the air as he runs one up into the bunker. It’s not an ideal result, but that at least gives him a chance to make something out of a bad situation.

Shot 1: It won’t be a lucky start to the seventh, as Woods drops one in the rough amongst the trees off the tee.

Hole 6, Par 3

Shot 3: KNOCKS IT DOWN! No doubt about that one, as Woods two putts the sixth to stay even on the day.

Shot 2: A bad read sees the ball off to the right of the hole, where there’s some work left in this putt to save par.

Shot 1: Woods follows in the footsteps of Homa at the sixth, landing his tee shot on the green before it tumbles back down off the hill with no real chance of a birdie here.

Hole 5, Par 4

Shot 4: Despite failing to capitalize on a couple of chances, Woods is safely in with par at the fifth. That keeps him at par for the round, which is a good start, but one that will have Woods wondering how much better it could’ve been.

Shot 3: That one never stood a chance. Woods leaves it well short of the hole and now will try to save par.

Shot 2: That was easy. He’s on the green after a gorgeous second shot and will have a chance for birdie coming up.

Shot 1: That’s some easy power from Tiger, who rockets the tee shot 298 yards, dropping a beauty in the fairway.

Hole 4, Par 3

Shot 4: He settles for bogey, bringing his scorecard back to even through four.

Shot 3: NEARLY! Woods just barely misses and should be able to tap in for bogey.

Shot 2: He can’t get that one to check up either, as the ball breezes by the hole and ends up four yards away.

Shot 1: While Max Homa went for the hole and Jason Day went for the trees — twice — Woods opted to play it safer off to the left. Unfortunately for him, that ball also missed the green.

Hole 3, Par 4

Shot 4: He taps it in, securing the par. While Woods might feel he’s missed some opportunities thus far, it’s hard to not be encouraged by the start.

Shot 3: Woods leaves it a little high and will have to settle for another par.

Shot 2: The ball waves at the hole as it goes by, refusing to check up next to the flag. That leaves some more work to do, with a 12-foot putt coming up for birdie.

Shot 1: He drops in another beauty off the tee, with just 23 yards left to go at the third hole. Woods avoided danger at the bunker, giving him a great chance to post a good number here.

Hole 2, Par 5

Shot 5: SAVE! Woods knocks down the par with ease, keeping him at 1 under through the first two holes.

Shot 4: Or maybe not. The fourth shot gives Woods a good chance to save par after landing the shot five feet from the hole. This would be a big save for him after taking one shot left handed.

Shot 3: His third shot lands beyond the green, landing amongst the paying fans in attendance. It might be tough to save par here at the second.

Shot 2: Tiger found his ball hugging a tree after that rough tee shot. That’s no challenge for this golfing legend, however, who casually chips it back to the fairway with a left handed shot. Nicely done.

Shot 1: Woods has, fittingly, found the woods after his second tee shot goes wayward. He’ll have plenty of work to do in order to continue this storybook beginning.

Hole 1, Par 4

The birdie on the opening hole was just the second time Woods has accomplished that feat at the Masters. The only other time he managed to do that was in 1999.

Shot 3: Back like he never left! Three perfect shots to open the day for Woods gets him a birdie to start his week at Augusta.

Shot 2: Woods is coming out firing, landing his second shot to within eight feet of the pin.

Shot 1: A beautiful 272-yard drive off the tee sees Woods’ first shot land safely in the fairway. As he said on Tuesday, anything off the tee box is where he struggles. That’s where we’ll get a true gauge of how Tiger’s doing.

3:53 p.m. — Woods is on the tee and we are ready to go. Let the show begin!

3:40 p.m. — Just 14 minutes separate us from the much anticipated drive off the tee from Woods. Here’s how it looked as he wrapped up some final preparations ahead of today’s round.

3:15 p.m. — Tiger will be teeing off in about 40 minutes, but the weather delay from earlier will complicate matters for him. Because they’ll run out of daylight, Woods will have to finish his first round on Friday morning before teeing off for another 18 holes afterwards. With the injury complications, it remains to be seen how his body will hold up.

2:55 p.m. — Woods has arrived at Augusta National and is ready to begin the journey towards a sixth green jacket. He’s sporting his new gear — Sun Day Red — after splitting with longtime partner, Nike, earlier this year.

Pre-round

Woods’ tee time was delayed about three hours due to Thursday morning thunderstorms at Augusta. He is now schedule to tee off at 3:54 p.m. ET.
