Infection at private parties is making corona tracing in Tromsø very demanding

Most new cases of corona infection in Tromsø are related to private parties with a lot of participants.

“In one case, there have been around 100 people at a party during the evening and night. The national recommendations state that you can have up to 20 guests in private homes. It is obvious that this recommendation is not followed,” Per Harald Korsmo, head of the corona center in Tromsø Municipality, stated.

As a result, the infection tracers can’t get hold of all the people who have been to these parties, and the lists of party participants are often deficient, according to the Municipality.

“There have been people who do not know each other at a party, and they simply can not account for who they have been with. This makes infection tracing work very demanding,” Korsmo added.

In the last 24 hours, 11 new cases of the coronavirus have been registered in Tromsø.
