India’s First Secretary Sneha Dubey occupied the top spot in the trends list on Twitter after her fiery speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) as she responded to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s remarks on Kashmir.
“Proud of you,” Twitter users said as netizens flooded the micro-blogging site with clips and pictures of Sneha Dubey. In her speech, Sneha Dubey said India desires normal relations with all its neighbours including Pakistan.
She also claimed that Imran Khan was trying to divert the world’s attention from the “sad state of his country where terrorists enjoy a free pass while the lives of ordinary people, especially those belonging to minority communities, are turned upside down”.
“Member states are aware that Pakistan has an established history and policy of harbouring, aiding and actively supporting terrorists. This is a country that has been globally recognised as openly supporting, training, financing and arming terrorists as a matter of state policy,” Sneha Dubey added.
Sneha Dubey also accused Pakistan of being an “arsonist disguising itself as a firefighter” by harbouring terrorists and called upon the neighbouring country to “immediately vacate all areas under its illegal occupation”.
Twitter rejoiced as Sneha Dubey delivered her powerful speech and gave her a big round of applause on social media.

Imran Khan, while accusing India of committing human rights violations in Kashmir, had said that the mortal remains of “great Kashmiri leader” Syed Ali Geelani were forcibly snatched by Indian authorities after he died earlier this month. He was 91.
In response to Imran Khan’s statement, Sneha Dubey said this was not the first time the leader of Pakistan had “misused platforms provided by the UN” to propagate “false and malicious propaganda” against India.
Sneha Dubey is an Indian Foreign Services officer. She completed her schooling from Goa and pursued higher education from Pune’s Fergusson College. She did her MPhil from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.
