Kmart Group Managing Director Ian Bailey discusses the rising sales numbers from the company’s half-year results and what is bringing new customers to the retailer.
Customers resonating with Kmart’s ‘low price, high value’ products
Wesfarmers reported a net profit rise of three per cent to $1.4 billion.
Kmart Group’s sales numbers rose five per cent to $6.1 billion.
Mr Bailey said customers are resonating with Kmart’s “low price, high value” products.
“We delivered really incredible products to customers at an amazing price,” he told Sky News Business Reporter Edward Boyd.
“I know that sounds like a real basic statement, but it really does make a difference to customers, particularly at these times.
“We were able to translate that into really good profit outcomes for our shareholders, really because of the power of our business model and our ability to design products all the way through to getting products into customers’ hands.”
He added that Anko makes up about 85 per cent of Kmart’s brand.
