Manchester United have recalled Alvaro Fernandez from his loan spell at Granada.
Fernandez joined the club on a season-long loan in September after spending the previous season in the Championship on loan at Preston.
However, Grenada announced that his time at the Nuevo los Carmenes has come to an end in a short statement posted on their website.
Mail Sport reported earlier this week that United were prepared to recall Fernandez with the left-back struggling for minutes, and send him on loan to Portuguese side Benfica.
The Spain youth international made his debut for Nazaries later that month, making his La Liga debut as a late substitute as the club fell to defeat against Girona.

In October, the 20-year-old would make his first start for the club, being replaced on the hour mark as Alexander Medina’s side held Barcelona to a 2-2 draw.
Fernandez would only play 90 minutes once during his time at the club, starting the Copa del Rey clash with Arosa that saw the club suffer a humiliating 3-0 defeat against their fifth-tier opposition.
Consistent starts would prove hard to come by, with much of his involvement limited to second-half cameo appearances as the club languishes five points from safety in La Liga.
