Joel Klatt believes the two prospects at the top of his 2024 NFL Draft rankings may be two of the best players ever at their respective positions coming out of college.
No. 2 on Klatt’s list? Former Ohio State wideout Marvin Harrison Jr.
The player in the top spot?
USC quarterback Caleb Williams.
“Caleb Williams is elite in every category I can evaluate on the field,” Klatt began. “He’s still a young man. So, are there going to be some mistakes made? Sure… Let me tell you what I do not get concerned with.
“Watch his tape. He is elite in every category – whether he’s creating on the run, threatening with his legs, his football IQ and his acumen [or] his ability to threaten the defense with arm talent… all of it. He’s an elite player.”
Williams has been considered a near-lock to go No. 1 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft for what feels like over a year.
With that said, though, and given the recent chatter surrounding the other quarterbacks in this class, Klatt simply wants to remind the football world that the hype surrounding Williams is warranted.
Barring a drastic last-minute change in sentiment atop the 2024 NFL Draft, fans should expect Williams’ name to be called first overall later this month.
