The Paralympian who has MS said that she had wanted to show other people with chronic conditions that it was possible to take part alongside everyone else, but admitted it had been tougher than she expected.

Talking about her reasons for taking part, she said: “If you're scared of everything you're kind of not going to survive very well, so I wanted to push my boundaries.

“I thought it would be a lot easier than it was, I guess I've just learned to deal with my condition at home so I thought yeah I'll be fine, I'll show other people with MS and chronic conditions we can do this.

“It was harder than I thought but I think I showed that even with these trials and tribulations of just life as someone with a chronic condition, you can still crack on and have fun.”

Cox, 30, also addressed the clashes she'd had with Naughty Boy over the cooking in camp, which saw them fall out over the best way to prepare dinner a couple of times.

She said: :Never have two chefs in one kitchen. It was a challenging situation.”

Adding that “we'll be really good friends out of this situation,” she explained that her eating disorder and life as an athlete meant that she liked to be much more organised in the kitchen than the music producer.

She said: “He's very chilled and laid back. I'm an athlete, I'm very regimented, I've also got an eating disorder so I'm always trying to portion and control.”

Earlier in Monday's episode, Cox had been seen volunteering to take on the Critter-cal Cages trial with Louise Minchin in order to stop a row breaking out between Naughty Boy and David Ginola about who should volunteer to do it.

Last night, Arlene Phillips became the first celebrity voted out of the castle but said she was happy to leave as she wanted to go home.

Phillips said as she left: “I never camp – my family all camp, I've never camped. I've done it now.”
