A primary school in Sneinton is celebrating after receiving an incredibly positive report from inspectors. Similar to how Ofsted carries out school inspections, The Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools [SIAMS] assesses the impact of a church school.

The organisation recently visited Sneinton St Stephen’s Church of England School in Nottingham where the “children are flourishing.” During the inspection on January 23, 2024, inspectors found that “Pupils at Sneinton have a mature confidence in themselves.

“They take their leadership roles very seriously and with great responsibility.” The school was also praised for having “a rich and vibrant RE curriculum” and that “everyone is known and celebrated as a child of god.”

Mark Lowe, Headteacher at Sneinton St Stephens stated: “This inspection report recognises what a special community we have at Sneinton St. Stephen’s. It is a privilege to be part of such a dedicated and talented staff team, where all value their contribution to our children and their families.

“We have such a wonderful, diverse community, where we all deeply care for, and champion each other. It was heart-warming that this report recognises that our children are thriving and are confident leaders with hope and aspiration for the future.”

The report states: “There is a real awareness of people of faith encompassed by God’s love as you enter Sneinton St.Stephen’s. Togetherness and encouraging others to be the best they can be is at the heart of all relationships. This community is served unconditionally with Christian compassion and care.”

The inspectors also noted that the school prioritises digital technology, and that each pupil is provided with their own electronic device for this “innovative approach” to learning. During the time of the inspection, there were 240 pupils enrolled at the school, which is part of the Transform Trust.

Kelly Lee, the Transform Trust partnership director says she is delighted with the latest inspection. Stating: “I’m incredibly proud of the many achievements of the Sneinton school community.

“This is a fantastic report and one that truly captures the deep-rooted relationships and distinctive culture shared amongst the children and adults. Exploring life in all its fullness and through the use of technology, the children have been able to share their learning and are advocates of change with partners globally.”
