Two women arrested in Subang for obstructing police duties
SUBANG JAYA: Two women were arrested after they failed to comply with a police inspection on Feb 23.
In a statement Sunday (Feb 25), Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said that the two women were stopped after patrolling policemen in Jalan SS15/4G spotted a car there on Feb 23 at around 11.30pm.
Police there deemed the vehicle suspicious and had introduced themselves to the two women inside.
“After introducing themselves as policemen while also showing their cards, they had asked both women to hand over their MyKad but they refused to do so.
“One of the two then took out a phone to record a video while also criticising the duties being discharged,” he said.
Both were then arrested under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant from carrying out his duties.
The two, aged 29 and 37 years old, respectively, were then remanded for two days and have since been granted police bail.
ACP Wan Azlan also advised the public to cooperate with the police “without causing provocations”.Subang, Police, Arrest, Obstruction, Wan Azlan Wan Mamat
