‘I want to see them succeed’: PM’s rushed detention legislation yet to see one application
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese refused to reveal when his government’s rushed preventative detention legislation would produce an application which it so far has not.
“The law that was passed last December was based upon the previous government’s legislation on terrorist offenders,” Mr Albanese told Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell.

“That took a long time to bring a case to bear based upon proper legal advice.
“What you want to make sure isn’t that you make an application that doesn’t succeed – you want to make sure an application does succeed.
“To be very clear, I want to see applications done as soon as possible and I want to see them succeed.”
