Plans to knock down derelict Glasgow listed building and turn it into hotel unveiled

Plans to demolish a derelict listed building at Glasgow’s Clydeside and transform it into a new hotel have been unveiled.

The proposals by Regent Property would see the building on 90 Maxwell Street/40 Fox Street turned into a hotel/short-stay apartment accommodation. The company says they are looking to give “significant investment” to the city’s Clydeside.

Members of the public will now be able to have their say on the plans, with a consultation to take place from February 28, both online here and in person at Granite House Foyer, 1-33 Stockwell Street with drop ins from any time between 3pm and 7pm.

A statement from the property management company reads: “Regent Property has plans for significant investment in Glasgow’s Clydeside.

“As part of the ongoing regeneration of the Clyde, Regent Property is preparing proposals for the redevelopment of 90 Maxwell Street/40 Fox Street and 96 Maxwell Street.

“The site lies within the St Enoch area of Glasgow City Centre, within close proximity to the River Clyde Corridor. Proposals will support the wider regeneration of the area by providing new high quality hotel / short-stay apartment accommodation, attracting tourism and footfall to the area.”
