Newspoll suggests Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s ALP remains ahead of Peter Dutton’s coalition.
A Newspoll suggests Labor and the coalition have both picked up a point in their primary vote amid a dip in support for the Greens and other minor parties or independents.
Labor still leads the coalition on a two-party-preferred basis, 51 per cent to 49 per cent – unchanged from the previous poll last month, according to the survey published in The Australian newspaper on Monday.
The primary vote result shows Labor on 33 per cent – where it was at the last federal election – and the coalition at 38 per cent while the Greens are down one point to 12 per cent and One Nation is level on seven per cent.
Support for other minor parties and independents has slipped from 11 per cent in the previous Newspoll in March to 10 per cent.
The survey of 1236 voters was conducted online between April 15 and April 18.
