Authorities have identified human remains discovered in Illinois last week to be Jake Cefolia, who was reported missing more than a year ago.
The determination was made Sunday by the DuPage County coroner, Chicago news station Fox 32 reported.
Cefolia, who was an executive for United Airlines, was last seen on Aug. 7, 2020, and a missing person report was filed shortly after.
The human remains were found last Friday near Waterfall Glen at a forest preserve in DuPage County, according to Fox 32.
Human remains found at a DuPage County forest preserve have been identified as missing United Airlines executive Jake Cefolia.
DuPage County is located in northwestern Illinois, about 26 miles west of downtown Chicago. It is the second-most-populated county in the state, behind only Cook County.
Investigators had looked through the Waterfall Glen area at least 10 times, with the previous search coming this past April, Fox 32 reported.
Officials determined the remains to be Cefolia’s following a review of dental records by a forensic odonatologist.Internet Explorer Channel Network
