How to reduce your home's risk from wildfires
What are some of the things you should be looking for right here or good or bad? So right here is really good. We have some rock along the edge of the house which is kind of promoting less fire travel. If we had mulch there, there would be more of a risk that it could catch fire and then we could catch the house on fire. Also here you can see where the fence is pretty much closely connected to the host. Basically. We would recommend that to we we not look at connecting our fences to the host because the fire travel from the fence to the hoses quite high. The other thing too is if we look over the trees, kind of leaning over top of the house, we have chances are for needles to be dropping on the host as well. So we got to kind of watch how close the roof is being littered with needles and leaves. Next we have trees here, anything with needles like pine and fir trees more susceptible to fires closer to the houses, so basically something with plants or leaves on it like a Maple or a Poplar would be better close to the host. Another thing too is when we look at things we look for like roof types, shingles and steel are more acceptable to building materials than having wood tanks on the roof. Wooden Shanks will basically catch fire a lot faster than your asphalt or your steel. As any time that the gutters have leaves or needles inside there, they have the possibility of Catching Fire from a number that gets in there. And basically what happens is then you can have the fire travel in underneath the shingles or the. You know around the wood area from there?
